Few places boast so many different bird species in such a small area — over 900 species (more than Europe, or all of the United States and Canada combined), including 75 different families, like 51 species of hummingbirds, 48 warblers, and 45 tanagers. Travelling from Eastern Europe to Central America was also an 8 hours back in time trip.
A field guide I’ll have to study on a long flight from Europe to SanJose. There are some other things to finish, but I am highly unlikely to make it before the trip, so it’ll have to wait for my return. There will be no chance to do it earlier!
These Ruddy Ground Doves were found in the saltwater lagoon near SanJose Del Cabo. This lovely dove has been imported from Europe, and is found living mostly in the suburban areas of North America, and Mexico. Very similar to the Common Ground Dove, but with out the obvious scaling on the breast.
