In the mean time, a family group of Black-throated Magpie-Jays were frolicking in the breeze high over the dry valley, showing off their exorbitantly long tail streamers. We had a small group of three or four repeatedly calling and posturing as they moved through the canopy. A number of families exist on Trinidad but not Tobago. Most notably the family of New World Vultures. This bird forms part of the “trilling” group of subspecies, and some already refer to it as Trilling Gnatwren.
