Young, non-breeding Swifts investigating nest sites. Erecting boxes in church towers is now accepted practice, and supported by the Church of England, though persuading church wardens to support such projects can be hard work, as I have found from my own experience. Swift boxes erected on an old mill on a Suffolk farm.
