This weekend was meant to draw kids into the Hamburg, PA Cabela’s to experience birds in a up-close and personal kind of way. Adrian Binns ( Nikon Birding ProStaff and Wildside Nature Tours ) brought up two vans of children from the Philadelphia area for a chance to experience all of the activities and be filmed on camera.

For those that might not fully comprehend, the birding slang-term to “dip” or to “dip out on” a bird is to go looking for a particular species and not find it. Drove to Philadelphia. This year, visiting Niagara Falls until January 6th gave me the chance to experience a bit of both latitudes. Back in Costa Rica, walks through coffee and fields near the house, and a few other day trips have upped the list to 250 species.
