Sunday morning was a perfect morning to get out on the East Pond of Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. ” At Jamaica Bay in August the standard peep is the Semipalmated Sandpiper , which is present in the hundreds or even thousands. It was a wonderful experience and I thought it only made sense to share some of it with you.

As for Bill , I have only birded with him once, when he and some British birders were on a layover at JFK and I took them out to Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. I currently have 164 species on my Florida life list, which has been built entirely upon my two previous experiences at Space Coast. It hasn’t happened. This will change.
