Best Bird of the Weekend (Third of February 2021)

Corey got out birding both days this weekend and had a typical suite of winter birds for the northeastern United States, with everything from Razorbill to Common Redpoll. Of all the species he spotted nothing pleased him more than finally connecting with his first Field Sparrow of the year: in fact, he saw four of them!

Best Bird of the Weekend (Second of August 2012)

I found the experience of authentically aggressive heat rather refreshing, but much prefer my moderate New York summers! Multiple groups of trogons with young in the United States seems surreal, but is entirely possible in the right place. But like so many things, evaluations of temperature can be relative.
