According to the United States Department of Agriculture, “farm animals are regulated under the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) only when used in biomedical research, testing, teaching and exhibition. On our lowland birdwatching trip we visited Rio Canande Reserve , Botrosa Road and then we also visited the nearby reserve of Mache Chindul; specifically we went to Bilsa Research Station of Jatunsacha Fundation. Then I realized that this reserve is really not a reserve, and that its forest are highly fragmented to give way to farming.

This title basically means I get paid to watch birds (like the above Indigo Bunting I digiscoped with my iPhone and Swarovsksi Scope) before wind farms, solar panels and pipelines go under construction (or sometimes I get to id bird parts found post construction). You may work in biology, but it could be in any field.

This looks like its for farming of livestock, not medical research, but that's bad too. Research on animals is research on animals. Mike Rounds wants a biotech animal research facility built in South Dakota. From the High Plains Journal. The Argus Leader reports that Rounds announced Sept.

It doesn’t require forest but the coffee farms and scrubby green space it does need are under constant pressure of being destroyed and replaced with urban housing. Fortunately, local researchers have been well aware of the dire need to learn about this species so it can be adequately protected.
