Be careful if you cross the feral cat freaks – they might protest your business, sue you, and drive you to suicide. Such was the sad fate of a New York City veterinarian who refused to release a stray cat she treated back to a feral cat freak who planned to release the cat back into a feral cat colony.

I’m not writing this to rant against PETA (god knows enough people do that), in fact their stance on feral cats is comparatively progressive compared to some of their counterparts, although they aren’t exactly on the anti-cat train most birders are on. Also, in relatively natural, or wild, lands in much of the US the feral cat population will be limited by a healthy wild predator population. By-catch is the catchy word for animals that are killed from fishing that are not the fish being fished. These are the dolphins in your tuna fish, for example.
