Key West Wildlife Center takes mostly birds, but will rescue mammals, marine mammals, and both land and sea turtles as well. KWWC also has a thriving feral chicken sideline. They see a lot of young Brown Pelicans ; they see a lot of juvenile birds in general, all of whom tend to hug the coast on their first migration.

Closely related to the Feral Pigeon and Stock Dove , the woodpigeon (we seldom bother with the pre-fix) is easily recognised by its large size, white neckpatch and the white, transverse bars on its wings. At distance, flocks are looser and far less synchronised that Feral pigeons. A woodpigeon often sits on my roof, near the chimney.
