The group is called Second Acts , and though they don’t rescue animals themselves, they raise funds to help smaller rescue groups continue their good work for animals. This adorable kitten is just one of many pets who have found a forever home thanks to the work Second Acts does.

Ralph Freeman has killed cats and kittens in his laboratory at UC Berkeley with no benefit for humans for over twenty years. These animals are denied movement and cut open for his insane, unscientific studies. Frederic Theunissen's car was scratched up with a hammer.

They received citations for animal welfare infractions, although apparently few of these infractions overlap with PETA claims from an undercover investigation. The Salt Lake Tribune claims the infractions are only minor (interesting how different publications will provide different spins). You decide. From the Deseret News.

Before the life-changing moment, Scarlett lived in an old Brooklyn garage in New York, taking care of five kittens not older than four weeks. Although, it was not the only sad payoff followed after: one of the kittens was completely prostrated and veterinaries could not save him.

In one case, up to 17 kittens from three litters died or were euthanized -- with no experiment data generated -- after injections to induce hydrocephalus. Failed to provide minimal enrichment for animals -- companionship for monkeys, balls for pigs, paper towels for mice -- to reduce emotional stress. Certainly a case to follow.
