Freeman says that the most difficult thing he has encountered so far in his research comes not from the lab, but from people’s attitudes about animal testing. Interesting that animal research is not cruel or inhumane because it benefits US. Does it benefit the animals? Diet (eat less!), exercise (walk more!)

They have paying members that are part of the animal research industry itself. Cleverly, they also emphasize how many "animals" are saved by animal research. Wouldn't Fluffy die without all the benefits of animal testing? Here's the organization's defense of its primate veterinarian members.

You heard it right.sheep decompression tests. PETA and the Alliance for Animals are asking for charges to be filed against the University of Wisconsin at Madison. The research is an effort to prevent "the bends," or injuries to divers as they ascend from deep water. From the Wisconsin State Journal.

I don't support animal research and I have no sympathy for animal researchers. I don't believe they want an honest dialogue about what they are doing to animals. I don't believe they are "brave" for "standing up" to animal rights activists. I would never advocate violence against a researcher.
