A pair Bald Eagles were doing fly-bys over our heads , and there were Belted Kingfishers, Canada Geese , A pair of Mallards, and three Great Blue Herons. Rebecca did a beautiful job, not only discussing the birds on the area, but blending in some environmental science, and the issues that can affect the local bird species.

Two were paired classics — shots of migrating Snow Geese. Before the main characters were released from prison, the geese were high overhead, inaccessible white spots against blue skies (so distant and out of focus, in fact, that I first misidentified them as Northern Gannets.) This, to me, is the perfect meeting of what C.

Here’s a tidbit from the NRA’s Hunters’ Rights website: “Sandhill cranes are hunted much like geese, with decoys set in fields and hunters stationed in blinds. Canada Geese and Crows can figure it out, so can Cranes. Isn’t that neat? All the hunting will take place for the most part on private land.

It also lends itself to the interested amateur; all you need is a notebook and a willingness to observe. But good phenology is hard. A pair of Bald Eagles scopes out the Clark Fork for likely snags.

Nonprofit organizations, science, and the best intentions in the world came to the rescue with a captive breeding program, and we now have over 400 Pink Pigeons living in Mauritius, the nearby island of Ile aux Aigrettes, and the zoos hosting the breeding program, including the Bronx Zoo. They have a hard enough time with Canada Geese.
