The small group was a good counterpart to the large, convivial ABA Safari group of 98 birders. That’s a lot, and the organizers of the safari did an excellent job of creating an environment that offered small group birding during the day and a birders party every night. So, the best way to find a leopard is to find the kill.

Recently, a group of nature photographers were spotted using live fish to bait a family of Grey-headed Fish Eagles in Singapore, where the species is listed as Critically Endangered, with only about 12-18 breeding individuals left in the wild. A Grey-headed Fish Eagle photographed ethically. Doing so, however, presented a few problems.

A little further, there’s a family group of Savannah Elephants with two two-year olds. Those that crossed the road first are waiting for the rest of the group at the other side. The dirt road winds in between rocky outcrops – kopjes, by Burchell’s Zebras and Greater Kudus. The first to cross is an old female with a two-year old baby.
