The gulls that spent months attacking any human on the place are content to loaf around and ignore you. It was the start of the shark season, which meant I saw my first Great White Shark attacks on Northern Elephant Seals , but it was also the best season for whales. Mostly Humpback Whales , but also Blue Whales.

Dogs are able to detect diseases such as cancer and diabetes and warn humans of impending heart attacks and strokes. In many ways, human emotions are the gifts of our animal ancestors. Sea lion mothers wail when watching their babies being eaten by killer whales. A Grateful Whale.
