Cheetahs would be quite happy with you shooting Lions as Lions are bastards that keep stealing their kills. Hunters are prepared to spend a lot of money for the privilege of shooting a lion.

In Cyprus it also means that the hunters and trappers are active again. There are also hunters in Cyprus, which are an entirely different situation. It is indeed legal to hunt certain birds such as Woodpigeon , Chukar , and Turtledoves. Still, it is worth noting that some illegal hunting occurs, and this needs to be policed.

I am not anti-hunting. I won’t pick a fight with hunters, as long as they eat what they shoot and don’t use lead ammunition. The “Crow Down” is a “hunting contest” where both adults and children slaughter as many crows as they possibly can in two days. One hopes this is the direction in which all killing contests are headed.

Yes, the earth has gone around the sun twice since the uproar from birders and other lovers of wildlife managed to convince the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to table the idea of hunting Sandhill Cranes in Tennessee for two years. Cancel the 17-year-old annual festival, and propose a hunting season on cranes. It’s bad PR.
