The behavior could be especially disastrous for waterfowl, which are hunted by people, but less so for passerines, or perching birds, which regularly come into people’s bird feeders. The former is worse than the latter, though in some jurisdictions both would actually be considered illegal.

On top of being illegal to capture and sell birds in the country, it is also immoral.

The reasons that these ten have been selected is to illustrate some of the myriad reasons that Africa’s birds are being driven to extinction; from commercial overfishing, powerline collisions, illegal trade, poisoning, traditional medicine usage, overgrazing and conversion of specialized habitats into agricultural land.

The Osprey tries another hunt, finally a successful one, while Telia goes deeper into the water and lies down. During 1990s, the South China Tiger became extinct in the wild (some still survive in zoos) and the number of extinct races reached four.

Natural areas include Pelham Bay Park, Van Cortlandt Park, Woodlawn Cemetery, New York Botanical Garden, and the Bronx Zoo. Though the third-most densely populated county in the United States (as of the 2010 census, thank you Wikipedia), about 25% of Bronx land is open, public space. It’s a very mixed chapter.
