The Little Big Year-week 46: All this fun comes to an end

When we returned to Tucson, from the Bahamas, I was approaching a milestone number, 1300 bird species, and drove myself hard, climbing, hiking, searching, and driving all over the state of Arizona looking for those last eight birds. Matt was working on his own US Big Year, and wanted to join me for the hunt. John Brush in Alamo Texas.

The Little Big Year – Week 43: Last minute trip to Texas

Things had just started to settle down a bit, now that we had parked the RV in Tucson. We left Tucson on Monday, and drove to Alpine, Texas for our first night. Once we were checked in, we headed straight out to begin our hunt. There better be at least 30” was that number she threw out at me, as we were driving away from Tucson.

SE Arizona 10 day birding blitz!

As many of you might know, I have been concentrating my bird efforts primarily to just one county, Pima Country which surrounds the Tucson, Arizona area. We saw a total of 7 Mississippi Kites, and these three birds were hunting on the Pima County side of the line.
