Both species of geese have increased hugely in recent years. These birds all breed in Iceland My visit to Brancaster concluded with a magnificent fly-over of Pinkfeet as skein after skein passed high overhead, all heading west. In Britain, wildlife spectacles don’t get much better than that. Pinkfooted Geese.

First was an awesome stay in Iceland. And, as appears to be the case in most cities in Finland, wildlife and nature is only steps away! Obviously many species of birds can be quite elusive, but this may be your best bet at getting you close to where you’ll need to be. Of course, birding was on the itinerary!

ALWAYS assume there is some other bird species in there that you have not found yet. Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge. Here is a flock of endangered species. Des Lacs National Wildlife Refuge, North Dakota. Could a Sharp-tailed Sandpiper be mixed in with that flock of Pectorals ? Buldir Island, AK.

Queens, the finest borough in New York City, as I may have mentioned before, is where I have now seen a whopping 279 species! What species will be the ten to get me to 289? Iceland Gull – Seen at Breezy Point in the middle of a huge flock of gulls on the same day as the Black-headed Gull , Short-eared Owl , and Redhead.
