The latest edition of Bull’s Birds of New York State , the classic book on NYS bird status and distribution, came out in 1998, so the numbers and trends given here represent a 16 to 18 year jump in currency. It’s a very mixed chapter. Despite these limitations and exceptions, the status and distribution accounts are very useful.
