Jaegers, Shearwaters, and Storm-Petrels – A September Pelagic out of NewYork

From the fishing boats we spotted lots of water in the air, both from a whale breaching and blowing. We tracked it down and had a great show of a Humpback Whale breaching repeatedly, one of two in the area. Other than a couple of Cory’s Shearwaters we would see no other shearwater but Great Shearwater for the rest of the day.
