That’s quite the list of charismatic and unique wildlife to add to your potential list of sightings. Giant anteaters are just one of the wildlife highlights of the Rupununi. I don’t think I have added any new species, but I did add Alaska, Kansas, and Oklahoma to the group state list. And I will continue my quest to see all of my Top 25 National Wildlife Refuges for Birding too. Ten years seems like a good time to look forward as well.

Not long ago, I posted a list of the 25 best National Wildlife Refuges for birding. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) has published a list of NWRs that have been created or expanded with Duck Stamp funds. Quivira NWR (Kansas): 99.1%. How important are 10,000 or 100,000 or even 1,000,000 acres and where are those acres anyhow?
