Briefly: Zoning board in Buffalo unanimously approved plans for a slaughterhouse (as in, a place where chickens, goats, lambs and calves will be killed and chopped up). The inaugural winner would be John Carbonaro, who found an article called " Slaughterhouse in Buffalo Wins Zoning Approval."
We encourage kids to gently pet baby lambs, cows, chickens and pigs, but we deny them this loving connection when we serve animals for dinner by surreptitiously calling them chops, hamburger, nuggets and bacon. And there is no good reason to breed, confine and kill animals for food unless we believe that economic benefit justifies killing.
After a bit of searching, I found that it appears to be part of an even longer commandment: “Rise and rise again until lambs become lions” This is pretty serious stuff coming from a can of beer; all I wanted was a drink, thank you. What if it's customary to allow guests to torture or kill one of the tribe? I, like you, am not a complete vegetarian. In fact, my diet is worse, but I do justify my eating habits.
Ethical vegetarianism is the thesis that killing and eating animals is morally wrong whenever equally nutritious plant-based alternatives are available. Similarly, most people also agree that: (2) It is wrong to kill a conscious sentient animal for no good reason. Nor ought we kill them without reason.
Doesn't it just tell us to kill them all?" Lambs, goats, birds were sacrificed at home, at temples and on altars themselves. Sadly, this kind of reaction is not uncommon. So many people today do not realize how God feels about the animal kingdom, His own special creation. This Easter, I would like to share an important Biblical truth.
