Because he killed humans and only humans matter in this world remember? Tags: pit bull Michael Vick sick. Wouldn't it have been Christian to just release him and hope he could redeem himself through a high-profile, lucrative contract? Perhaps he just needed a mentor or, even better, a hug! Of course not.

Imprisoned NFL star Michael Vick will be allowed to finish his sentence under home confinement because there is no room at a halfway house for him, a government official told The Associated Press Thursday. Vick is serving a 23-month sentence at the federal penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kan., He is eligible for release in July.

To train them to fight one another, and then to kill the losers of these fights, is barbaric beyond words. Michael Vick should be punished to the full extent of the law if he is convicted of the charges filed against him. How could someone support, much less organize, such a vile practice? Dogs evolved with humans.

Thanks to Adrian Seeley for calling to my attention this story about PGA Tour golfer Tripp Isenhour, who allegedly intentionally killed a red-shouldered hawk with a golf shot. Isenhour is charged with cruelty to animals and killing a migratory bird. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 14 months in jail and $1,500 in fines.

The Michael Vick case shed light on the disgrace of those who cause dogs to fight each other, an event often accompanied by drug sales and prostitution. We are tired of our dogs being bloodied, broken, scarred, crippled, killed and thrown into garbage cans. Yonkers prides itself on its gentrification and revitalization efforts.

The media and society is vilifying Michael Vick (rightly I believe.) Like Vick, most of us shamelessly abuse and kill animals. Americans systematically exploit and kill animals - sometimes for scientific progress; sometimes for leather jackets, ham sandwiches, or horse-racing.

Looks like BET will have a new reality show based around Michael Vick. Sorry, but I think someone who kills dogs like he did can't just change. Tags: Michael Vick. Wonder if he'll talk about the dogs he helped hang and electrocute to death. He'll get paid to tell everyone what a wonderful person he is.
