Polar Bear Supporters Lose Court Case

A federal appeals court made a final decision Wednesday on whether Fish and Wildlife could allow oil companies to interfere with polar bears. They claimed Fish and Wildlife failed to consider effects of climate change and had a false idea of how many polar bears would be affected. From KTUU in Anchorage.

A Red Fox in Georgia, not looking very red I’ve never been to Svalbard, so I haven’t ticked off polar bear, but I have seen brown bears on a number of occasions in both Romania and Bulgaria. They will also kill any water birds they can capture, from Kingfishers to Mallard.

On Jeff Corwin's 100 HEARTBEATS

And managing means killing them, breeding them, and otherwise fiddling with their populations. When I was asked if I wanted to read Jeff Corwin's 100 HEARTBEATS (Rodale 2009) I was ambivalent. I know he's a conservationist, therefore I know he will advocate for "managing" the "resources" that are sentient nonhumans.
