I like this story because I can only imagine the conditions of circus animals in Portugal. When I was in the Azores, there was a circus called Atlas I think and there were horrible, gaudy posters. I just had a sick feeling about the possible treatment of those animals.

Think about that statement next time you are in a bear jam in Yellowstone or surrounding a lion in Tsavo with 16 minibuses. However, the last few hours were absolutely worth the trouble as I drove through springtime Extremadura and southern Portugal. May is just an excellent time to visit Spain and Portugal.

But somehow everyone goes crazy instead for Lion doing nothing interesting whatsoever… I am calling “bovine excrement” on the AI: common and ubiquitous does not a trash bird maketh. The lion is what, brown? The roller hasn’t, and the lion is just very cool. It’s black and white, very stylish.
