On the first trip in 2012 we used public transport to get there and the train conveniently gets you to Macarthur Square shopping centre and you can then get a bus that drops you right at the entrance to the park. We also had Eastern Whipbirds hopping along the edge of the road tossing the leaf litter about in search of food.

We searched for walks that started and ended near public transport, as we were going to get a ticket- MyMulti 3 -that would let us travel wide and far unrestricted each week. I would recommend this if you are going to be out and about and most stations have regular trains all day including Sundays. In the gully!

Last Sunday Grant was able to leave work in the afternoon and I had researched options of places we could get to within one hour of the city of Melbourne using public transport that would offer us some birding opportunities. Everybody wanting an exercise challenge that sunny Sunday was out in force!
