A Tale of Three Magnificent Frigatebirds (Two I help, one tries to kill me)

I happened to work at that facility, for International Bird Rescue at the Los Angeles Oiled Bird Care and Education Center , part of the Oiled Wildlife Care Network. So, this bird’s care was given to me since I had been involved with the Los Angeles bird four years before. Like it or not, you’re the resident “expert” now.

Bird Found on Plane

A songbird was found on a flight between Taiwan and Los Angeles and authorities believed it escaped from the custody of someone trying to smuggle it. The bird was not identified to species, which is kind of frustrating.

In Search of the White Wagtail at Cabrillo Beach

When a White Wagtail was found on 10 December at Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro, just south of Los Angeles, I was pretty stoked. After all, I would be arriving in southern California on 19 December, landing in Los Angeles at LAX, about thirty minutes from the site of the sighting.
