The day started out with some typical monsoon-season cloudiness, so my first photos suffered a bit from low lighting. Black-chested Sparrow is one of Paso Ancho’s flagship species. It wasn’t my fault; the Sparrow came to me. Striped-headed Sparrows and Streak-backed Orioles seemed to be everywhere.

The Red-flanked Bluetail is also the subject of an otherwise relatively unremarkable paper , but it uses the interesting term “autumn obesity” Maybe this Marsh Sandpiper also suffers from autumn obesity? And yes, sparrows in areas with polluted air are less healthy. Thank god that this does not apply to humans.
