I am often guilty of neglecting “place&# when birding. What events transpire miles away that make a certain destination attractive to birds and wildlife in one way or another? Why is a particular destination better than the next for certain birds? These are questions that I feel we as birders need to ask ourselves more often.
A large and striking bird like this would be hard to neglect in a museum collection. Guans have also been introduced in the Laquipampa Wildlife Refuge.
