Finally, the Similan Islands are perhaps one of the most beautiful islands in the world and form a stunning backdrop to this species, one of the loveliest pigeons in the world. Australian Pied Shags and the endemic Spotted Shag also fish the calm waters by the city, and if you are lucky you can see Blue Penguins as well. Here the wildlife goes back to being coastal, with much the same birds as Wellington Harbour. Not a species I have seen myself yet, but it is on my list.
