PETA has asked the group Pet Shop Boys to change their name to Rescue Shelter Boys. Peta Europe has written to Pet Shop Boys with a request they are unable to agree to," reads a post on the band's official website. Peta's letter requests the name change because of the cruelty it alleges takes place in the pet trade.
Now animal shelters have the right to refuse to release animals to the University of Utah for animal research. Davis County Animal Shelter, a key supplier to the University of Utah, has already ceased this practice. As you can see here , PETA does not even address these issues at all, while portraying themselves as indeed giving a damn.
