I'm finally getting caught up on some reading and came across this article in the Defenders of Wildlifewildlife. The summer issue had a good article about walruses. We tend to talk about penguins and polarbears, but these guys are important too. Very depressing sometimes though.

Inevitably, it’s a situation where you were there, and for me, it’s the swimming male polarbear. When you see a dying male polarbear and you’ve been with that animal for a long time, it is hard. That made the wildlife viewing all the more special really, so that’s probably my favorite place.
