Maybe sugar processed with bone char isn't worth boycotting a restaurant over. Or bake some vegan cookies for a vegetarian friend who's convinced that she cannot survive without eggs and butter. And they're all pretty obvious. As for the less obvious (gelatin in tires? Maybe it is. I'd rather trap a feral cat and have her spayed.

Charles the lame greyhound doesn't process grains well at all. I had to make exactly the same meal for her every day, so I moved to using Natural Balance Vegetarian kibble (note that the canned version is not vegan due to the animal source of Vitamin D3). No change in anything about her, though I do think she's a bit perkier.

He always refers to himself and his wife and his child as "vegetarian." But why does he say "vegetarian?" That bothers me, as there's a significant difference in motivation for vegans and vegetarians and he sounds like one, yet calls himself the other. It's hard to say because the government still has not instituted a comprehensive MRSA inspection process, but independent research conducted by Tara Smith, PhD, assistant professor of epidemiology at the University of Iowa, suggests that MRSA-infected animals may be widespread indeed. Just how prevalent is MRSA-infected meat?

In my opinion, and I am a vegetarian, the second definition of humane is the MINIMAL that we should expect. Animals are raw materials to process for product. You are not processing their wellbeing, but their carcasses for meat. There are horror stories of animals not completely dead before they are being processed.

McWilliams insists that vegetarianism is "the most powerful political response we can make to industrialized food. He thinks we would rightly "frame the matter as a dire political issue." Such a dire political issue requires a political response. It's a necessary prerequisite to reforming it.
