However, they tend to be rather secretive due to hunting pressure (by humans, not too many wolves yet in Germany), and are therefore a rare sight especially in densely populated areas. The park did have a pack of African Wild Dogs, or Painted Wolves, the species I had gone to Africa to see. A pair of last year’s puppies playing with an old skin. And the morning before the Mkuze pack of Painted Wolves, or African Wild Dogs, had been very close to one of the park’s few Lions, as far as tracking collars had told. And the two species were not inclined to get on, by which I mean that Lions will kill other large predators including Painted Wolves. It was not a pretty sight.

You prevent that dog from producing puppies, and those puppies from producing puppies, and on and on for centuries maybe. who would rather bite you than look at you. When you rescue a street dog, you stop that cycle.
