I don't know what she's going to do with it, but at least she'll stop carrying it. She's supposedly a vegetarian and is friends with Walk the Line co-star Joaquin Phoenix who is a huge animal rights activist and vegan. I still don't understand what she was doing. She knew it was an animal skin.and she spent $4,000 on it? PETA is very happy.

I was letting my ball python explore the room while he was out of his enclosure, and I noticed that he was getting a little too close to the space behind the bookshelf. I went to pick him up and put him down somewhere else, but this little mf had his ass set on going under the bookshelf and getting lost.

The load included 173 bear paws, one python skin and the carcass of a pangolin — a type of sticky-tongued, toothless, nocturnal anteater that is a menu item in southern China. I suppose it shows they are making some effort , but it's still a huge problem.

My possible birdwatching highlight this month was Short-eared Owl at Fengxian. Despite (or because of) its slightly anti-German tone, this owl video is worth seeing.

The other snake was a Carpet Python lying on the trail at Kondalilla Falls. It suddenly appeared behind me as I watched birds come in for an early morning drink and Grant slammed a car door and it then turned. I was not even thinking of photographing it, but how much better it would be further away.

We saw three snakes in two days and one was a very large Black-headed Python moving across the highway as we were unable to slow down sufficiently to photograph it. Cattle can be anywhere! Of course another danger is the presence of snakes and crocodiles!
