Caring for the homeless cat population in Los Angeles, FixNation , offers free spay and neuter services to caregivers of community cats. The group, founded in 2007, also provides a free, full-time spay and neuter clinic for homeless stray and feral cats, plus low-cost, spay and neuter services for tame pet cats.

Clearly, there's no spay/neuter program in this place. But there are animal rights activists in Mexico that will hopefully take notice and try to establish some kind of long-term and humane solution. There's a stray dog problem in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico. The solution? Sarcasm there of course. From Latino Fox News.

When taking the issue to simplest common denominator, spaying/neutering is essentially exercising human dominance over non-human animals. But my stance is also categorized under Gray Matters because, in my perfect world, we wouldn't be spaying or neutering anybody.

Most shelter animals are spayed or neutered, have been treated for worms, and have at least their first set of shots. It can be preorded right now via Amazon, and should be hitting shelves in bookstores on March 9th. Good for You: Adopting an orphaned animal keeps it from having to be euthanized.

Behavioral changes – This is most noticeable right before she would be due to give birth. If you have no intention of breeding your dog, the best and most responsible thing to do is have her spayed. Having a dog spayed may also prevent any secondary illness and diseases in the future as well.

I'd rather trap a feral cat and have her spayed. I'm not saying give up on "animal rights," either. Maybe sugar processed with bone char isn't worth boycotting a restaurant over. Maybe it is. Arguing about that line with other vegans, though, doesn't interest me.
