The island’s largest salt lake, Akrotiri, is not a great draw for waders, but the range of large, shallow saline pools on its east side, along Lady’s Mile, were in perfect condition to attract a wide variety of species. Additional species seen included a pair of Whimbrels which didn’t linger, Little Ringed Plovers and Greenshanks.

Owls, the debait

Inspire me to try a little harder to get that composition just right, to get that jaw-dropping moment. One wouldn’t tether a rabbit out to get a shot of a fox or a coyote, or is that somehow different? Photos that capture great behaviour, and the incredible beauty of birds. Should I worry about how those photos were obtained?
