En route, the teenagers were chatting away when suddenly I screamed “Eagles!”, Soon the girls emerged. Bald Eagles ,” I said encouragingly/defensively/lamely.

This is brought about by a visit to Karori Wildlife Sanctuary/Zealandia, where I was able to catch up with the ducklings that I first saw back in the spring. Just a quick post today to appreciate one of New Zealand’s most attractive birds, the Paradise Shelduck.

Apparently, Bubbles is now 26 years old and living at an animal sanctuary. They are wild creatures and their psychology must suffer from these abnormal arrangements. But I thought he was at an animal sanctuary? He got too aggressive to live with Jackson's kids. This is not surprising. Who will benefit from all this?

Addressing supporters and the media at the Phinney Ridge Neighborhood Center, Tomlin said elephants in zoos across the country are suffering in confinement. Lilly Tomlin is in Seattle and spoke out about the conditions of elephants at the Woodland Park Zoo on behalf of the Northwest Animal Rights Network (NARN).

Like the Huia and kokako the Saddlebacks suffered with the introduction of mammalian predators, and in fact the South Island Saddleback came breath-takingly close to extinction. Today the South Island Saddleback is increasing in numbers as the Department of Conservation moves them around offshore sanctuaries. Bonus bath shots!
