When Paul Farmer was a medical student, he had to do a vivisection. Tags: books. These brief descriptions are less than 1 percent of the book, but they meant something to me because I've become sensitized to them. There was one story that took up less than one page that is the animal legacy of the book to me. He was disturbed by it.

I haven't examined each institutionalized use of animals the way that Dunayer has, with the possible exception of vivisection, and I learned a lot about the details of the language of each industry.

Jentsch talks about the cost ("it's hard to put a price tag on") of protecting those like him, so we definitely know that the tactics of those who seek to defend animals are working on one level (economic harm, though once removed at least in this situation). Guess what the answer is? No surprise there. Direct action is such a conundrum.

Is it possible that videos of open rescue or undercover videos taken of vivisection could be somehow lumped in with snuff and other vile videos and considered unacceptable (and don't think that wouldn't be intentional), therefore taking an important tool away from activists? What do you think?

This one addresses the decreasing number of dogs and cats being experimented on and, without mentioning it, discusses speciesism and our affection for dogs--pet dogs particularly (and especially purebreds)--which leads to our revulsion with the idea of snatching, vivisecting and killing them. But that's now what happened. Or mute babies?
