I measure our cat Charlotte (pictured above in the masthead) in 42" HDTV's. Here is an article about the high cost of vet care and the ethical questions of how much do you spend. She's at about 3 at the moment. Maybe 4 with all the meds and followup visits. Do you ask the vet to euthanize the animal?

We've been supporters of Alley Cat Allies for years, ever since we rescued a feral cat colony living in our apartment building's parking lot 14 years ago (5 of those clowns are aging nicely with us with us now.including Charlotte who's on the masthead). They do a good job of using donations for actual programs instead of bloated overhead.

A lost pit bull mutt broke up an attempted mugging of a woman leaving a playground with her son in Port Charlotte, Florida. After people tried in vain to get the whales into deeper water, the dolphin appeared and the two whales followed it back into the ocean. Dogs are also known for helping those in need.

This scraggly collection of islands and deep long bays forms the tip of South Island closest to to North Island, but till this point my only experience of the area had been the long passage down Queen Charlotte Sound to reach the ferry terminal of Picton.
