On Conditional Love

Nicole at Alec's Story writes: One of my pet peeves, so to speak, is the concept of “unconditional love” as attributed to dogs by humans. That's a pet peeve of mine, too, along with "children are so honest!" (If you've ever seen the Bill Cosby bit about that, it's hilarious!) But she's also an alpha dog and Charles isn't.
