Like Vick, most of us shamelessly abuse and kill animals. Hunters shoot down animals in cold blood for mere sport. Americans systematically exploit and kill animals - sometimes for scientific progress; sometimes for leather jackets, ham sandwiches, or horse-racing.

Of course, as a result, "ethical meat" becomes an option unless one realizes that killing when you don't need to is killing when you don't need to, no matter if it occurs in a slaughterhouse or in a mobile slaughter operation or in a backyard. But why cause suffering at all when you don't need to? You are choosing violence.

According to Reuters: Japan, which considers whaling to be a cherished cultural tradition, killed 679 minke whales despite plans to catch around 850. Some of these discussions make me think: Boy, that Rick Berman, that FBI, those people who spend their lives using and killing animals for fun and profit--don't need to do much to bring this movement down because we're doing it ourselves. The explosions have ranged in intensity, wounding some of the pigs and killing others. car companies used live animals, including pigs, for crash tests until the early 1990s.
