ANIMAL rights groups have begun a campaign against the dairy industry's treatment of bobby calves. Animals Australia has a video on its website showing calves being roughly dragged off utes and thrown to the ground. Here's the full article from the Weekly Times Now.

I found a link to them on ANIMAL's blog (ANIMAL is a Portuguese animal rights group.) These scientists are NOT an animal rights group. They do support some animal-based studies (which sucks); HOWEVER, they acknowledge that much animal research is useless. Tags: animal research.

by making it more visible to public scrutiny and ensuring the well-being of its animals. To which I say, many universities are just as opaque and irresponsible in their animal care as any private sector entity. I'm as skeptical about this claim as other animal rights advocates.

I don't support animal research and I have no sympathy for animal researchers. I don't believe they want an honest dialogue about what they are doing to animals. I do believe they want prestige, tenure, royalties and patent rights. I don't believe they are "brave" for "standing up" to animal rights activists.
