They were one, two or three to a cage, and I am 80 percent sure the accommodations were exemplary as far as such institutions (or for that matter traditional zoos) go. If they are "only" animals, if they are beasts which abstract not, then my comparison is a piece of sentimental foolishness. These chimps are healthy and well-fed.

Strangely, the photo accompanying the Wikipedia entry on Collared Finchbills , Asian birds, was taken at Cincinnati zoo. I wonder what Americans would think if, in a Wikipedia entry, a Bald Eagle would be illustrated using a photo taken at an Albanian zoo. When the animal recovers from the anesthetic, it is given access to a mirror.
