Best Bird of the Weekend (First of October 2021)

My weekend was actually pretty slow from a wildlife appreciation angle, but the bare husks of coneflowers in my garden are still drawing curious American Goldfinches. He got to some of the hotspots in his home town and enjoyed seeing a variety of fall migrants from wood-warblers to blackbirds. How about you?

And when two of those eyes are professionally trained for wildlife monitoring, that is certainly a big plus. For example, these may all technically be Blackbirds, but there are Red-winged and Yellow-headed Blackbirds and a Brown-headed Cowbird in this one photo. Four eyes are better than two. So modern of them.
