I was not on one of those lucky groups, but I did get to see a Secretarybird on my Eastern South Africa trip.) The Big Five–lion, leopard, African buffalo, elephant, and rhinoceros–are impressive, but my heart lies with the patterned mammals, giraffes and zebras.
