5, 2009 To the Editor: I ate my last hamburger last night. It’s a terrible but ultimately not surprising tale, given the continued lack of self-regulation and the emphasis on profit over safety in the meat industry. He said, “I have to look at the entire industry, not just what is best for public health.”
