Swarovski Skills Camp, or men and their toys

The indoor workshop started with a Covid self-testing (where everyone was negative), followed by lectures on the Swarovski company, its ethos and products. The next day we had an outdoor workshop and a chance to test the toys. At the end of the workshop we all went birding, to further test the glasses of our choice.

Ban on Ape Testing Proposed in EU

Their is a proposal to ban testing on apes in the EU. Europe's environment chief plans to ban laboratory tests on mankind's closest relatives -- chimpanzees, gorillas, bonobos and orangutans -- in a clampdown on animal testing by the drugs industry and other laboratories.

Across 4 studies, the authors found that participants scoring in the bottom quartile on tests of humor, grammar, and logic grossly overestimated their test performance and ability. Although their test scores put them in the 12th percentile, they estimated themselves to be in the 62nd.
