Exploring eBird Mobile Tracks

I recently birded the Tualatin River NWR near Portland, Oregon, and made that my test case for a deeper dive into the Mobile Track. The river at the top is the Columbia , which forms much of the border between Oregon and Washington. A Google Maps image is below that, for those unfamiliar with the area.

Alert calls from a small patch of woodland at Tyson’s Corner, VA, near Washington DC, prompted me to take a look and see what was upsetting the flock of scolding birds. As I inched up the slope on by backside I wondered, should I test my fortune any further by trying to get a photo, or should I high-tail it to the lottery shop?
